District 300 is now hiring AVID tutors:

AVID tutors will support students by assisting them with college readiness skills and WICOR strategies (writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading).  

Tutors will learn how to engage students and facilitate collaborative learning through higher level questioning in small groups.  Applicants must either have earned a college degree or be enrolled in a college program. Applicants will serve as role models for students and must be organized, reliable, and professional in behavior.
 
Job Summary:
Tuesdays and Thursdays, some Friday work may be involved, with prior notification.  Hours vary at different buildings. 
$10.00 - $12.00 per hour.

Qualifications:

• Leadership skills with small groups
• Strong Math and/or English background is encouraged
• Current enrollment in college, evidence of college work, or earned degree is necessary
• Must be available to work during school hours in 2-3 hour increments or majority of the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays
